An artist run initiative, we exhibit artists, created events and performances. Sadly SMOCK Bureau is currently not a physical space, but was once situated on Hindley St in Adelaide, South Australia.
We hosted three exhibitions at our gallery:
1. The Bait Fridge
The Bait Firdge’s first inner city performance was staged at SMOCK.
2. Liam Bosecke and Jungle Phillips
An exhibition bridging a local ‘outsider’ artist (Jungle Phillips) with a virtual animator (Liam Bosecke).
3. Francois Knoetze
SMOCK’s last event in the Gallery was hosting Francois Knoetze & Open Space Contemporary’s garbage costume workshop. 20 artists were involved in collecting materials from local dumps, turning them into costumes and parading them through the middle of a high art event.
Community Project:
Our latest event was ‘SkateArtJam’ with the Port Adelaide Enfield Coucil. We held an event at Osborne Skatepark to allow people to influence the creation of a public artwork. Local bands played, free local food, a skating competition and art workshop.
